The Town of Landover Hills Maryland's red light cameras, consist of a system of stationary cameras that use sensors working in conjunction with a traffic control signal to record images of motor vehicles entering an intersection during a red light signal phase. Photos and video are taken
from the rear of the vehicle with the red light signal visible, both before entering the intersection and while the vehicle is in the intersection.
The red light enforcement cameras are operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. Fines for each red light violation are $75.00. Failure to pay this civil penalty, or to contest liability in a timely manner, is an admission of liability which may result in refusal or suspension of the motor vehicle's registration.
