ARPA: Resident Assistance Programs

The Town of Landover Hills offers Grant Programs for residents, which are funded by Federal funds received by the Town under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021, Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund program.

SENIOR ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM:

Deadline: September 30, 2024

What is the CY 2023 Senior Assistance Grant Program?

 The Town of Landover Hills Senior Assistance Grant Program is designed to assist eligible seniors in meeting the rising costs of necessary household expenses (food, household products, gasoline, utilities, etc.) that is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic continues to cause inflationary pressures across many consumer goods and services in CY 2024.  These increases have caused economic harm to seniors on fixed incomes.

The Town has allocated $150,000 for the program

Who may apply for the Senior Assistance Grant funding?
Any individual who meets the following qualifications are eligible to apply:

  • Age 62 or older;
  • Resides in the Town;
  • Currently receives Social Security benefits from the United States Social Security Administration; AND
  • Has an annual gross household income of less than $70,000.

“Gross Household Income” includes salary, wage, tips, commissions, business income, interest, dividends, social security benefits, annuities, insurance, retirement and pension benefits, disability or death benefits, unemployment and disability compensation, and workers’ compensation.  The Town reserves the right to request any information it deems necessary, in its sole discretion,  to make a determination as to whether an applicant meets the gross household income requirement.

A household may have more than one eligible individual apply for the grant provided the eligibility requirements are met for the additional individual.

If you received funding under the Town’s previous Senior Assistance Grant Program, you may still apply for the CY 2024 program.
